Delegation from Kasetsart University visited SKLEC

  

The delegation from Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand, visited East China Normal University to Strengthen Collaboration on emerging environmental challenges.
The highlight of the visit was the formal signing of an MOU with the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC) at ECNU.
 
 
A high-level academic delegation from the faculty of environment, at Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand, recently visited the State Key Laboratories of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC), East China Normal University to enhance academic cooperation and explore joint research initiatives, particularly in plastic pollution. The visit, marked by the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions, focused on collaborative research in microplastic pollution, and coastal studies, and solidifying mutual intentions to advance research on emerging challenges. Both universities expressed enthusiasm for expanding collaboration into other academic areas and multidisciplinary academic exchanges based on mutual interests and future agreements.
 
The heads of both institutes (Prof. He Qing, director of SKLEC, and Prof. Tunlawit Satapanajaru, Dean of the Faculty of Environment) appreciated the initiative and exchanged views on further strengthening this collaboration.
Including the principal investigators, Prof. Daoji Li and Prof. Pasinee Worachananant (Vice Dean), senior representatives from both institutions: Faculty of Environment Kasetsart University (Ratcha Chaichana, Associate Professor (Vice Dean), Kittichai Duangmal, Assistant Professor (Vice Dean), Chalor Jarusutthirak, Associate Professor (Vice Dean), Onanong Phewnil, Assistant Professor (Vice Dean) and Thitima Rungratanaubon, Associate Professor)—alongside SKLEC, delegates were introduced by Khalida Jabeen (Assistant Professor—SKLEC).
 
 
Prof. Daoji Li delivered a welcome address stressing the imperative for enhanced synergy, innovation, and urgency in addressing global environmental challenges through collaborative research.
 
Prof. Xiuzhen Li introduced the faculty, research areas, and aspects of international research cooperation at the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC) while Prof. Ratcha Chaichana introduced the perspective of the faculty of environment, at Kasetsart University.
 
 
The event underscored a shared vision to address global environmental challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration, with both institutions pledging to leverage their strengths for impactful outcomes.
 
Both universities look forward to further engagements, leveraging their shared expertise to address critical global issues while fostering cross-cultural academic excellence.
