IMBeR International Project Office – China

IMBeR is a core project of the Scientific Committee for Oceanic Research (SCOR) and Future Earth and has focused on integrated marine biosphere research (IMBeR) on the global and regional levels and worked toward the benefit of society. In the year 2020. the IMBeR established two international project offices in Shanghai (IPO-China) and Halifax (IPO-Canada) to better accommodate the growing needs of its community worldwide. The main tasks of the International Project Office - China (IPO - China) are to:
  • support and coordinate the activities of the  Climate Impacts on Oceanic Top Predators (CLIOTOP) Regional Programme and the Sustained Indian Ocean Biogeochemistry and Ecosystem Research (SIBER) Regional Programme;
  • support and coordinate the activities of the Continental Margins Working Group (CMWG) and the Eastern Boundary Upwelling Systems Working Group (EBUS);
  • promote IMBeR and support the implementation of the IMBeR SPIS (2016-2025) in the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and African region;
  • undertake educational outreach activities of IMBeR-related science to empower the above-mentioned regional scientists with IMBeR relevant scientific research skills;
  • administer and support IMBeR Endorsed Projects, National Contacts, and other affairs on demand.
