To promote coastal blue carbon research and to establish an international platform for dialogue, exchange, and collaboration in blue carbon observation, the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research and the Center for Blue Carbon Science and Technology of East China Normal University will host the “2025 International Symposium on Coastal Blue Carbon & The 2nd Meeting of Consortium for Coastal Blue Carbon Observations and Studies of China” from May 26 to 29, 2025, in Shanghai, China.

III. Conference Topics
- Plenary Session: Keynote presentations from internationally recognized experts.
- Parallel sessions:
- Observation and modeling in coastal blue carbon research;
- Key processes of carbon cycling and mechanisms in coastal wetlands;
- Carbon sequestration enhancement and multifunctional co-benefits in coastal wetlands;
- Blue carbon trading and policy.
The conference will include poster presentations and plans to organize on-site field trips to Chongming Dongtan and Xisha Wetlands.
