ECSA2017 was held in Shanghai

ECSA 2017 'Where Land Meets Ocean: The Vulnerable Interface' was held in Shanghai, China (16-20 Oct, 2017). The conference attracted 180 delegates from 21 countries and over 100 papers were presented。The conference was jointly organised by ECSA and the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC) at the East China Normal University (ECNU). ECSA council was represented by Prof Mike Elliott (Institute of Estuarine and Coastal Studies, University of Hull).
The key topics are: Hydrodynamics and coastal dynamics;Sediment transport and morphodynamics;Regime shift of estuaries and deltas under changing environment; Harbors and navigation channels; Interactions between estuarine/coastal processes and oceanic processes on the shelf

Pollutants transportation and transformation at estuaries and coasts;Bio-geochemical processes; Mechanisms controlling harmful algal blooming; Blue carbon under multi-stressors; Reclamation and Exotic species invasion;Ecosystem restoration; Ecosystem based coastal management' Energy and environmental security of coastal cities. There were 8 keynote speakers, more than 100 oral presentations and 33 posters in the conference.

The conference was held in conjunction with 60th anniversary of SKLEC. All conference participants had the chance to attend the anniversary celebrations, which was an impressive event with several hundreds of guests and alumni.
