The Norwegian Delegation visited SKLEC

       The Norwegian Delegation, consisted of the Norwegian Research Council, Norwegian Embassy and Shanghai Consulate, came to visit SKLEC on Oct. 19, 2015.

Introduction of SKLEC-NIVA Centre for Marine and Coastal Research by Prof. Richard Bellerby

       A welcome speech was firstly given by Prof. ZHOU Yunxuan, the director of the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC). Prof. LI Xiuzhen and Prof. Richard Bellerby presented the SKLEC and the SKLEC-NIVA Centre for Marine and Coastal Research respectively afterwards. Mr. Thomas Hansteen, science counsellor of Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing, introduced their national strategies for Norwegian-Chinese collaboration. Ms. Else Katrine Nesmoen, director of the Department of Higher Education, and Ms. Anne Elin Hattrem, special advisor for China Department for cooperation and Development Research in Research Council of Norway, introduced about the priorities on cooperation with China. Scientists from SKLEC-NIVA center also introduced their research in biogeochemistry, remote sensing and hydro-dynamic modelling.

       After the meeting, the delegation visited the facilities of SKLEC. They are deeply impressed by the research areas and achievements of the laboratory, and expressed their hope for further cooperation with SKLEC.
