The College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, tenure-track Assistant or tenured/tenure track Associate Professor with a focus on Heavy Isotope geochemistry. Successful candidates will develop and maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program in non-traditional stable isotope systematics of heavy elements and/or radiogenic isotope systems. In addition to being a leader in his/her science discipline, this researcher will also be a world-class analyst, charting out innovative analytical methods to solve earth science problems. This researcher will complement and strengthen our analytical capabilities and will help assure that state-of-the-art instrumentation that is now available in the Keck Collaboratory is fully exploited to push the boundaries of the field. This researcher will also play a leadership role through expanding the facility beyond current capabilities.

Successful candidates will participate in the CEOAS undergraduate and graduate teaching program and will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in biogeochemistry, isotope geochemistry, and/or geodynamics.

Requires: Ph.D. in oceanography, geology, geochemistry or related field; record of significant and innovative research in heavy isotope or radiogenic isotope geochemistry; record of peer-reviewed publications and a clearly defined research agenda commensurate with academic rank; demonstrated ability or significant potential for establishing a research program supported by extramural funding; demonstrated ability or significant potential for mentoring graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
