Prof. Iris Anderson was invited to visit our laboratory during May 29 to June 8, 2012. She is a professor from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, College of William and Mary, and the editor in-chief of Estuaries and Coasts.
During her visiting, she gave three academic lectures: 1) Tracking the Fate of Carbon and Nitrogen in a Shallow Photic Coastal Lagoon; 2) The Role of Natural and Anthropogenic Disturbances in Regulating the Benthic Nutrient Filter; 3) Keys to Producing a Successful Publication for Estuaries and Coasts. Through these lectures, Prof. Iris had a deep discussion with staffs and students from SKLEC, and future cooperation between SKLEC and Virginia Institute of Marine Science was discussed. Accompanied by our staff, prof. Iris also made some field trips to the Eastern Headland of Chongming Island and Huangpu River.
