During Oct. 16-17, the 2nd International Symposium on Estuarine and Coastal Research was held in East China Normal University, Shanghai. This is a follow-up after the 1st international Symposium held during Oct. 28-31, 2012.

The 2nd International Symposium on Estuarine and Coastal Research was hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC). More than 60 scientists and students from eight countries participated in this symposium with 21 scientific presentations made.

The participants had deep discussions on various topics such as “Building with Nature: a progress report”; “Shoreline management and the role of managed realignment in the UK”; “Challenges to representing marine ecological responses to ocean climate variability” etc.
