主要研究领域为河口与近海藻类群落结构的演变特征、机制与生态效应。至2023年,发表相关研究论文230余篇,论文引用8000多次。担任多个国际、国内海洋学术期刊副主编、编委,国际生物地球化学整合圈(IMBeR)学术指导委员会委员。
